Reading the Contexts of Traditional Streets
Introduction
In this project, students are to study the relationship between architecture and its social, cultural and intellectual context. We were given several streets to pick from and study it. Following a set of physical and non-physical contexts: Religious Buildings, Architecture Facade and Styles, Shophouses, Market, Traditional Trades and Businesses, Local and Traditional Cuisines, Historical Events and Social Institutions.
Reflection
This project in particular was very hard for me as I had a lack of fundamentals in drawings as well as "Story-telling". Nonetheless, doing research was key in this project and I'm glad that I got through it. It was challenging for me but also good practise for my drawing skills.
