Construction Detailing of Building Elements
Introduction
In this project, students are to pick an existing two-storey home and study its construction in concrete/timber. We are to compile drawings such as the construction process and orthographics into a single presentation document.
We are to work in groups of 8 for this project, with a mix of Architecture and Interior Architecture students.
Reflection
In my opinion, this project was not as easy as it seemed to be. Firstly, my tutor requested all of us to create a 3D model of the house in Sketchup or any CAD Modelling software - I decided to use Revit. This was particularly challenging for me as I have not used the software before, but would have been good practise for the upcoming semesters.
Secondly, my fellow teammates from Interior Architecture were unfamiliar with doing orthographic drawings, which led to some downtimes. However, through teamwork and teaching them, I am glad that we were able to complete it.
